Wonton Soup

This wonton soup is just like the restruants. It taste good and the best part is you can freeze the wontons to use with the broth at a later time

Ingredients

Wonton Filling

  • 8 Ounces ground pork

  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 Package wonton wrappers

  • 1 bundle of green onion

Broth

  • 3 cups chicken broth

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 1 teaspoon ginger

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar

  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil

Topping

  • green onion

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients from the filling into a bowl and mix until well combined.

  2. Once filling is well combined, add about 1/2 teaspoon to each of the wonton wrappers and fold.

  3. In a large saucepan combine all ingredients for the broth and let it come to a boil for about 8 minutes to let the flavor develop.

  4. After about 8 minutes, lower temperature to a simmer. And remove garlic and ginger.

  5. Use water to wet the edges to help seal the wonton. Fold the wontons in half and then pinch the edges together. ( should look like a circle).

  6. Once all the wontons are wrapped, bring the broth back up to a boil and slowly add the wontons into the broth and cook till the meat is fully cooked. About 6-8 minutes or until the wontons are floating.

  7. Serve and enjoy

Freezing Wontons

  1. If there are left over wontons, you can put them in a bag after folding them and put them in the freezer for a later use.
