Pasta Carbonara

This is an easy pasta carbonara recipe that the family likes to eat. It’s also different from just normal spaghetti.

Ingredients

  • 8- 10 pieces chopped bacon

  • 4 cloves garlic minced

  • 1/2 package spaghetti

  • 1 1/4 cup grated parmesan

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 egg yolk

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the bacon into small pieces then set aside for later use.

  2. In a large bowl combine the 2 whole eggs and 2 egg yolks. Stir in pepper and salt.

  3. Bring pasta water up to a boil. Add pasta a cook until you think it’s done.

  4. Drain the pasta and save about 2 cups of the pasta water.

  5. While the pasta is cooking cook the bacon until crispy.

  6. Once the bacon is cooked remove from pan. Drain most of the oil leaving about 1/2 teaspoon.

  7. Add the pasta back to the bacon pan. Add the egg sauce and stir. If the sauce looks too thick add some of the pasta water about 1 teaspoon at a time till the sauce is a consistency you like.

  8. Add the bacon back in give it another good stir and serve.
