Dinner Rolls

I Love to make these dinner rolls for many different occasions. I like to make them for Thanksgiving and large family dinners.

Ingredients

Rolls

  • 1 package of active dried yeast

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 cup milk

  • 4 tablespoon butter

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 4 cups flour

Brushing

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. To activate the yeast, whisk the yeast in the warm water stir, and let the yeast develop for 10 minutes.

  2. While the yeast is activating in another bowl mix the milk, melted butter, and sugar.

  3. Once the yeast is activated add the milk mixture to the yeast and mix till combined.

  4. Add the flour and salt to a bowl, then add the milk and yeast mixture to the flour and mix until the dough comes together. mix about 4-5 minutes. ( if the dough is too sticky add a little bit of flour until it is not sticky).

  5. Step 4: Leave dough in bowl. Cover and put in a warm spot to rise for 1 hour. (Recommended oven with the light on)

  6. Once the dough is done with the first rise, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 even rolls.

  7. Place the rolls into a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.

  8. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  9. Beat the egg and brush it on the top of the rolls.

  10. Bake for about 20 minutes or until rolls are baked through.

  11. When the rolls are done brush the butter on them, serve, and enjoy.
