Caramel Apple Pie
This apple pie is one of my favorite recipes ever. Whenever I make this for other people they love it.

Ingredients
6-7 granny smith apples
1/2 cup butter
3 Tablespoons flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 package Pillsbury pie crust
1 egg for brushing
Instructions
Start by peeling and thinly slicing your apples. Place in a bowl with a tablespoon of lemon to prevent the apples from turning brown.
Add the brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and allspice to the apples.
Using a large frying pan add the butter and melt it. Once the butter is melted add the apples.
Cook the apples till they have a little bit of bit left about 6-10 minutes.
Once the apples are partially cooked remove the apples but leave the liquid in the pan.
Turn the stove to medium heat and start to render down the liquid. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar and continue to cook down the apple juice until it becomes thick and a deep caramel color.
Place the pie crust into the pie dish and add the apples to the pie crust. Poor the caramel liquid on top of the apples. Place the other pie crust on the top.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and
Cut slits in the middle of the pie to release the steam and some liquid while baking.
Beat the egg and brush the egg over the crust.
Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
Then keep the pie in the oven but reduce the heat to 375 degrees and bake for another 30-40 minutes.
After it is done baking let it cool for at least 2 hours, then serve and enjoy.
